La Riserva di Torre Guaceto e' quel luogo dove terra e acqua si confondono e si intersecano, creando un territorio unico in cui l’uomo e la natura hanno trovato un equilibrio raro. In cammino si attraversera' tutta la fascia costiera che, tra duna e retroduna, delinea una serie di ambienti naturali ricchi di bellezza. Raggiungeremo la verde macchia mediterranea, dove si aprono sentieri profumati nella fitta vegetazione arbustiva: Nonno Gino, l’antico albero di Ginepro, ci aspettera'sui sentieri per raccontarci il delicato equilibrio tra foglie e animali della macchia. Riprenderemo il cammino con gli occhi puntati all’orizzonte, seguendo la linea di costa che disegna calette di sabbia e penisole di roccia e andando a conoscere il mare e gli abitanti dell’area marina protetta. L’antica Torre Guaceto ci attendera' affacciata sul mare e, ammirando il suo allestimento archeologico, ci consentira' di viaggiare nel tempo e nello spazio: dall’eta' del bronzo, passando per il periodo romano, fino al medioevo per arrivare ai giorni nostri. Raggiungeremo poi la zona umida di importanza internazionale costituita da un esteso canneto che offre riparo e nutrimento a rettili, anfibi e uccelli stanziali e migratori. The Torre Guaceto Reserve is that place where land and water mingle and intersect, creating a unique territory where man and nature have found a rare balance. On the way we will cross the entire coastal strip that, between dune and backdune, outlines a series of natural environments rich in beauty. We will reach the green Mediterranean scrub, where fragrant paths open in the dense shrub vegetation.Grandfather Gino, the ancient Juniper tree, will be waiting for us on the paths to tell us about the delicate balance between leaves and animals in the scrub. We will resume our walk with our eyes on the horizon, following the coastline that draws sandy coves and rocky peninsulas and going to meet the sea and the inhabitants of the marine protected area. The ancient Torre Guaceto will be waiting for us overlooking the sea and, while admiring its archaeological display, will allow us to travel through time and space: from the Bronze Age, through the Roman period, to the Middle Ages and on to the present day. We will then reach the internationally important wetland consisting of an extensive reedbed that provides shelter and food for reptiles, amphibians and resident and migratory birds.
